Perdido Elementary School Celebrates Dr. Seuss Week
Even the teachers at Perdido Elementary School got into the ‘Dr. Seuss” spirit this week in honor of the famous children’s author’s birthday on March 2. All students in grades Pre-K through third grade were given the opportunity to participate in a variety of ‘Seuss’ inspired activities throughout the week. In honor of some of his most famous books, students dressed accordingly:
Monday – Cat in the Hat – Students were allowed to wear any kind of hat
Tuesday – The Grinch, Green Eggs and Ham– Students were to wear anything green
Wednesday- Fox in Sox – Foot Boot – Mashup – Wacky Wednesday – Students picked out their ‘wackiest’ outfits to wear.
Thursday - Oh the Places You will Go – Students dressed as what they want to be when they grow up
Friday – Dr. Suess Character Day – Students dressed as their favorite character from any Dr. Seuss book.
In addition to dressing out for the week, students made their own paper plate ‘Cats in the Hat’, sampled green eggs and ham, listened to and read different Dr. Seuss books and wrote their own Dr. Seuss type stories.
